Transit VPCs are a specific hub-and-spoke network topology that attempts to make VPC peering more scalable. For small scale setups or for early adopters of IPv6 (which is worth a separate blog post) this could be an acceptable risk. It is simple and straightforward but does not scale well when the number of VPCs grows.
