A federal judge in Texas ordered the US Federal Trade Commission to not enforce its partial ban on non-compete agreements on Tuesday, agreeing with the Chamber of Commerce that the FTC move “exceeded its statutory authority,” was “arbitrary and capricious” and that the proposed FTC rule would have caused businesses “irreparable harm.” The ruling was highly anticipated because the same judge in July temporarily suspended the rule.
