The articles should have been written on the topic of poor leadership. Let me be as clear as I can - the phrase &# toxic work environment&# is code for bad leadership, becasue a toxic culture simply cannot co-exist in the presence of great leadership.
Started the school a few years ago to teach students who were too poor to attend regular school. John Rego was a Ranger Team Leader in Iraq. but you’ll not find that here. but you’ll not find that here. but you’ll not find that here. First year, he had 8 children. Today his school has an enrollment of 922 students.
Where Dan lost me was on point #4 – Teams Decide by Consensus. In recent months I have observed a decent amount of politically correct discourse on the topic of team building and equality. The gist of the argument seems to be that for teams to be productive, employees have to feel “empowered&# by having an equal voice.
Poor Communication Skills : Show me a leader with poor communication skills and I’ll show you someone who will be short-lived in their position. Any leader is only as good as his or her team’s desire to be led by them. Bottom line…unproven leaders come with a high risk premium.

“My way or the highway&# thinking, and/or positional dictatorships rarely create the culture and performance demonstrated by winning organizations. If you don’t engage those who hold dissenting opinions and viewpoints in candid and open discussions you will struggle in developing to your true intellectual potential.
Great leaders lead all people under their care, not just those who agree with them. As much as some don’t want to hear this, there is an “I&# in team because teams are comprised of individuals. If you crush the individual character and spirit of those who form your team, how can your team operate at its best?
Clearly this endeavor will take time, and may not yield immediate results, but the payoff organizationally, relationally, culturally, and in terms of future contribution can be huge. They become efficient and we created an effective team. Bottom line…check your motivations. We then teach this method to the others.

No body ever wants to spend 8 hours doing poor work. Recognize them and while you play to their strengths, accept their weaknesses.
