I’ve seen many an executive or consultant attempt to identify leaders with interviews, tests, evaluations, etc., Let me be very clear – there is not always a direct correlation between testing well and leading well. Don’t give people tests – give them responsibility. only to fail in miserable fashion.

Let me be clear that I’m not advocating brand snobbery, just astute brand management based on time tested success principles. Intelligent brands create at least some level of focused planning surrounding the issue of access to prevent overexposure. Social media makes it all too easy to fall into the over-exposure mode.

Just as a diamond cannot be polished without friction, neither can you fully develop your skills without them being tested by adversity. This is so much the case that I have never come across a great leader who has stood the test of time that has not rid themselves of this debilitating habit. 4mclayman the word "influence" is one of the more tricky ones to define in the world of Social Media. History is littered with leaders of this ilk have not endured the test of time often. Social and societal stigmas are definitely in play when it comes to love and leadership.
