Not reviewing the progress. When you don’t review the progress periodically, you loose momentum. Projects generally start on a high note – keep the momentum going by periodic reviews. Review early and often. I think great leadership is all about having simple rules of thumb and follow them consistently.

Getting people to exercise their choice of delivering excellence is #1 leadership challenge. Secondly, excellence has a lot to do with people’s motivation to do a great job. It is their choice. It starts with getting the right people and building the right culture. Finally, just like quality , excellence is a moving target.
“Striving for excellence” should be a call to action for us to renew our focus on developing a culture of excellence, great leadership, adopting best practices, making them work in our context, continual improvement and superior service to our customers/peers. Very truely said - “Striving for excellence” should be a call to action for us.
