Software engineering productivity cant be measured. Its a big spreadsheet which describes each title in our engineering organization, along with the skills required to reach each title. For example, Associate Software Engineers are hired fresh out of university. This is a big cultural shift!

And took some very winding paths to my first job writing code, which I think I started doing in about 2006. But as the engineering manager there, I grew a team from zero. A team of me to a team of about somewhere between 20 and 25 software engineers. And that was in the very early days of JQuery.
